Beware Caravan Scam
Hi
A Jayco 18ft van for $20000 (around $13000 under the going price) in a local Newcastle paper drew my attention last week. After making email contact with the seller Via an under construction web site it turns out that the van is supposingly in Hobart but would not make arrangements to have an inspection or supply a contact number all i got was that she (so called Mary) had just been through a divorce and a lot of other garbage. It seems that they will deliver the van to you for a 7 day trial through a logistics company based at Hobart Airport (which does not have any contact number or address). There is a web site and seems that you pay to have it shipped. The whole thing has been reported to the Gov authority(scamwatch.gov.au) they say these scams are usually run from off shore and they will investigate.
